ECU Van Tuning
A remap of your ECU is, in some ways , reverse engineering the factory detune. It is a safe tuning method as manufacturers build in huge safety margins when the powertrain is developed initially - these margins take into consideration potential lack of servicing, abusive driving, worldwide warranty provision, poor fuel grades, European wide emissions laws, and extreme climatic conditions. Here in the UK, with high quality Arabian fuels and a temperate climate you can safely eat a little into these margins and still maintain reliability, economy and clean emissions.
Updating your ECU's settings is not the only way of tuning, however it is a thorough and fully customisable method of tuning that takes into consideration every aspect of your vehicle's performance and drivability, and unlike so called tuning boxes, does not just fool your ecu into providing excess fueling across the rev range by piggybacking onto your fuel pump wiring. Hundreds of changes are made, to not just add power but to maintain fuel economy, drivability and reliability...
